What is the APC Capability Assessment?

The practical clinical examination on your path to Australian physiotherapy registration.

The APC Capability Assessment is the second stage of the Australian Physiotherapy Council’s assessment pathway for internationally qualified physiotherapists. This practical clinical examination evaluates your ability to apply your knowledge and skills in a clinical context, demonstrating that you are capable of safe and effective physiotherapy practice in Australia.

The assessment is designed to reflect real clinical practice in Australia. You will be assessed on your patient assessment skills, clinical reasoning, treatment planning, communication and professional behaviour across multiple clinical scenarios.

Successfully passing the Capability Assessment completes the APC assessment pathway, allowing you to apply for full registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia through AHPRA and begin practising as a physiotherapist in Australia.
