4

Eligibility Letter

Upon passing the exam and document review, DHA issues an Eligibility Letter. This is what you show to employers in Dubai when job hunting.

UAE Physiotherapy License FAQ

Answers to the most common questions about physiotherapy licensing in the UAE.

To work as a physiotherapist in Dubai, you need a DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license. The DHA covers all healthcare facilities within the Emirate of Dubai. DOH covers Abu Dhabi and MOH covers the remaining five emirates.

Yes. The entire DHA application process — including the Dataflow verification and DHA Prometric exam — can be completed from India. You only need to travel to UAE once you have a job offer and need to activate your license. This makes UAE one of the most convenient licensing destinations for Indian physiotherapists.

For DHA, you need IELTS 6.0 overall (no band below 5.5) or OET Grade B. For DOH and MOH, English requirements are similar. However, for native English speakers or those who completed their education entirely in English medium, some authorities may waive this requirement — speak to our consultants for your specific case.

Yes. BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) is generally recognised by all UAE health authorities. You’ll typically be graded as a Physiotherapist. MPT holders with specialisation may qualify for a Senior Physiotherapist grade, which carries a higher salary band.

Dataflow Group is an independent primary source verification service used by UAE health authorities to confirm the authenticity of your academic and professional credentials. They contact your universities and employers directly to verify your degree and work experience are genuine. It is a mandatory step for all UAE health authority applications.

The DHA Physiotherapy exam is a computer-based multiple-choice test administered through Prometric. It covers clinical physiotherapy knowledge including musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and paediatric physiotherapy. The exam typically has 100–150 questions with a 2–3 hour time limit. Pass mark is around 60%. See our DHA Exam page for full preparation guide.

UAE is excellent for 5–10 years of career building, financial savings, and international experience. However, unlike Australia or Canada, UAE does not offer a pathway to permanent residency for most expats. Many Indian physios use UAE as a stepping stone — save money, gain international experience, then transition to countries offering PR (Australia, Canada, UK).
